Holiday Volunteer Opportunities

Over the holiday season, we are adopted by groups like Santa's Brigade, MOMS clubs, civic organizations and local church congregations. They handle most of meal preparations and gift requests. If you belong to a group who would like to help, please let us know as we have needs in 2010. Currently we have 19 women living in the home.

Here is a listing of holiday related volunteer opportunities for an individual family:

- Create and mail a homemade holiday card with words of support and encouragement or thoughts of the season

- Arrange a holiday centerpiece

- Make a holiday decoration or ornament for our tree

- Bake and deliver a batch of special cookies, include the recipe or cookie cutter

- Visit one of our Giving Trees to fulfill a specific gift request

- Start a Baby Bottle Drive with your extended family and friends. This is especially easy for little ones, my boys are constantly finding change when we are out and about. Labeled baby bottles available upon request.

- Each night recite a prayer, or send out well wishes, to our mothers and babies

- Spread the word to families about our upcoming Family Concert with Makin Music on Feb 20, 2010

- send a MH Holiday Card to a friend

- Purchase diapers and/or wipes for our diaper closet

- Become a Guardian Angel

These opportunities will open wonderful conversations between you and your children about the many blessings in your life as you create something together to benefit those less fortunate.
