UNICO National Delivers Turkey Baskets for Thanksgiving

UNICO National - The Largest Italian American Service Organization in the USA, delivered several turkey baskets to our home to address the needs of our residents during the Thanksgiving season.

The letter attached to the turkey baskets:

Dear Friends,
We hope you will enjoy your Thanksgiving Dinner.

This turkey basket was made possible through the hard work of volunteers and the members of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of UNICO National. We are a national service organization whose sole purpose is to unite all Italian Americans and motivate them to become more civic minded members. In order to accomplish this, our members understand that they have to make sacrifices, not for personal gain, but for services to others. The name UNICO is derived from an Italian word which means "unique" or "only one of a kind." The letters are interpreted as Unity, Neighborliness, Integrity, Charity, and Opportunity.

Although our members share a common ethnic background, we are completely American. We are totally non-political and non-sectarian. All of our officers serve without pay and all funds collected for charity purposes are delivered to intended recipients. UNICO members devote time, energy and financial support to their activities and sincerely practice the motto of "Service Above Self."
